I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan! I'm a Gryffindor at heart. I love taking topics that students enjoy and incorporating them into the lesson. It gives the student an opportunity to use prior knowledge to help them access new information. It's also fun!

About Me

I am a licensed English teacher in the state of Wisconsin. I enjoy working with students of all ages, especially in reading. I believe in encouraging students to love the process of learning. This is the key to success.

Experience

I have worked in a variety of positions in the content area of ELA over the last decade, including as a traditional classroom teacher and interventionist. I've taught students in grades K-12, and I take great pride in helping my students become confident, successful individuals.

Approach

My experience has taught me that students learn best when they feel safe and supported. In a traditional classroom, it is all too easy to feel unheard. I believe in honoring student voices and allowing them to be active participants in their learning. I do this by allowing them to enjoy the process without the pressure.
