Fun Facts

I was born in California and grew up in rural Wisconsin where I played volleyball and performed in show choir. I love to travel and learn new languages. I spent a summer working abroad in Madrid, Spain and had an amazing experience. When I am not studying, you can find me at zumba class (latin dance aerobics) or watching foreign films on Netflix.

About Me

I have completed my undergraduate studies in Strategic Communications at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, I am attending NYU and working towards a master's degree in International Relations through the Politics Department. I am fluent in English and Spanish and enjoy learning new languages. My ultimate goal is to work at the United Nations in the arena of Global Health and Development.

In high school, I had the opportunity to be a classroom assistant in a local kindergarten classroom. I was able to work on reading, writing and counting with the students and realized that I have a passion for teaching and helping students reach their full potential. During my undergraduate career, I was a part-time nanny for a family with two children in elementary school. At this position I helped the children work on spelling, math and science homework in a way that was engaging to them.

My teaching philosophy is one of mutual trust and respect. By building a strong relationship between the manhattan">tutor and the student, the environment for learning will be most productive. I believe that through encouragement, discipline and engagement manhattan">tutors can dramatically help the student solidify concepts. I have a patient teaching style and believe in using creative ways to get students to remember content.
