Fun Facts
I loved playing baseball as a kid and played quite competitive in high school. I’ve conducted student research for NASA. I used to not like school very much until I went back to college met new people that taught me many things that got me excited to learn.
About Me
I’m a senior computer engineering major specializing in machine learning at Portland State University (‘big’ data analysis and machine vision implementation) in the Maseeh School of Engineering.
Experience
I have worked as a math, physics and engineering tutor with Portland State University and at Portland Community College. My professional experience related to my studies started with the United States, geological survey as a machine, learning contractor where are you utilized machine learning python libraries to evaluate large data sets in determining geothermal resources. Since then I have worked on various projects with Datalogic Labs along with a subcontractor that worked with fish and wildlife organizations both developing machine vision techniques to optimize image processing.
Approach
I approach learning as a team effort between the tutor/teacher and student where the student’s success and development is the goal. This is only possible, if the student is excited to learn and I believe that is part of my responsibility when facilitating a particular student’s learning process. I’m willing to make whatever adjustments are necessary to set up my students with the greatest chance to succeed in their education and development.
