Fun Facts
An interesting fact about me is that I am a first generation college graduate. Out of 5 children and 19 grandchildren, I was the first to obtain a Bachelor's degree. Although education is my passion, any time there is free time, I am doing DIY projects around my home.
About Me
I am the campus 504/Testing Coordinator at Coppell Middle School East in Coppell Independent School District. I hold a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education in Education Administration. I have taught 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th grades with a focus in Reading Language Arts. Along with a host of leadership roles, I have served as both Middle and High School Assistant Principal.
Experience
I have over 16 years in public education. In 16 years, I have held various roles as classroom teacher, Dean of Instruction, Instructional Facilitator, Middle School and High School Assistant Principal, and currently Section 504/Testing Coordinator.
Approach
I've always had a passion for reading and writing. I grew up in rural Southwest Louisiana where opportunities were limited. My love of reading grew out of sheer boredom. I can remember reading books and living vicariously through the characters in the novels. In addition to my love of literacy, I've always been a strong writer. I am most proud of the fact that I wrote a play in the 5th grade, and was even able to convince my teacher, who was retiring, to perform it in front of the whole school.
