Fun Facts

A passion people learn about me is my love for cartoons. I love many cartoons, especially Avatar, and I also enjoy a variety a crafts. I can embroider by hand or with a machine and I also enjoy doodling.

About Me

I am a junior at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am majoring in K-12 education/texas/arlington">special education and also getting certified in K-6 general education. I start my student teaching next year but have over 200 hours of direct student observation in a classroom.

Experience

As a student observer, I have had the opportunity to work one-on-one with many students and teach them various subjects but mostly reading and writing. Depending on the class I was in, I worked with students for 15 min-1.5 hours two times a week.

Approach

I use a direct instruction approach so that the kiddos can get the most out of our time together. I explicitly state what the goals are and the information they need to know. Then I will give them examples that I do, we will do one together, and then the students will try the problem on their own. If they did not understand it I will go back a reteach the material.
