About Me
Greetings! I am a former secondary education ELL/ELD/ESL and English teacher and long-distance running coach. I also used to help sponsor student-led clubs. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and a concurrent degree in English Language and Literature. I also have 30+ credit hours in a Masters's degree in Administration and Supervision in Education. I love to help others reach and exceed their goals by making learning enjoyable, accessible, student-centered, differentiated, and results-based.
Experience
As a teacher, I created and revised the curriculum and assessments. I evaluated student work and provided feedback and knowledge of results. I enjoyed facilitating student-centered lesson plans full of active participation opportunities to maximize learning retention. I worked with native speakers of English as well as a range of language users from all over the world. I excelled in teaching English learners whether they were at a pre-emergent level of English proficiency or nearing proficiency.
Approach
When I was a student, I vividly remember the education professionals and peers who helped make learning “click” for me. As a high school student volunteering and interning as a tutor and teaching assistant, I was able to help make it click for others. Learning can be frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be. I firmly believe in ensuring education is student-centered, engaging, fun, meaningful, results-based, differentiated, and effective. I use strategies and methodologies to ensure success.
