Fun Facts

One of my biggest life passions is studying languages and building my fluency in Japanese, Italian, and Finnish. I love cats and live with one calico cat and two chihuahuas. I grew up an only child, and naturally gravitate toward languages, arts and music. I enjoy regular walks and other outdoor exercise to stay young and fit.

About Me

I graduated in 2015 from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Japanese language studies and 3.89 GPA. I have enjoyed tutoring for 8+ years and classroom Paraeducator roles for four years of my career so far. I plan to become a certified teacher and offer English and Japanese language classes one day.

Experience

For about three years, I have worked with multiple tutoring centers across the Phoenix area assisting students with their academic work in violin, Japanese and English. I also have spent about eight years offering private lessons and one-on-one tutoring to students of various ages, from young children to adults. I would love to continue being there for students to develop greater mastery of their learning.

Approach

Since I began my tutoring career in 2014, I have developed and practice many kinds of approaches to assisting students with their academic subjects. During lessons, I get to know each student and identify important details such as their academic goals, relevant strengths and weaknesses, learning styles and needs. I am flexible and patient with the process, making use of textbook resources, flashcards, note-taking and model drawings, practice reviews and/or game activities.
