Fun Facts
I am super passionate about youth development and sharing my expertise. I have 15 years of experience mentoring and coaching young athletes both on and off the field. My number one talent is inspiring others through storytelling.
About Me
I am Program Director for Junior Achievement where I teach young people about financial literacy and career exploration. I also am the head coach for the local youth football team. I volunteer in my church as a youth counselor and when I have time alone, I enjoy traveling, reading, dancing, and playing sports. My wife is an elementary principal and I have 4 wonderful kiddos.
Experience
In the past, I have taught both Jr. High and high school history/social studies at Phoenix Christian Prep. I have classroom experience teaching character and leadership with an organization called Elevate Phoenix. In addition, I spent 4 years teaching ESL with VIPkids to youth in China.
Approach
My aim in teaching is to create a situation where students become enthusiastic about understanding the subject matter themselves. To achieve this, I use a variety of methods such as speaking in pairs, small groups, role plays, and debates. My approach grows out of three interlinking strands: my personal experience with learning and learners; study of the experiences of others; and experimentation.
