I enjoy riding my road bike and taking in the scenery wherever I visit. I have lived in California and Kansas.

About Me

I am a certified education/maryland/baltimore">special education teacher in Maryland and Virginia. I utilize researched based methods to create lessons based on the standards of learning and the student's unique learning style. My teaching philosophy is focused on combining blended learning techniques with my student's interests for increased engagement.

Experience

During my studies, I completed internships working with students in the elementary and secondary classrooms. I have administered grade level assessments and evaluated the data to identify student weaknesses. I create modified materials to implement the strategies needed to develop a student's maximum learning potential. I am trained in Orton Gillingham's method in developing the phonological awareness skills needed to improve reading and spelling.

Approach

As a teenager, I babysat and read to children a lot. My 1st grade teacher instilled the love of reading and writing stories. I would be humbled for the opportunity to give back to the community by helping others.
