About Me
My name is Nadia Mustafa!
I graduated from The tulsa">University of Tulsa in 2022 with a Bachelors in Applied Mathematics, with a concentration in Actuarial Science, and a double minor in Finance and Data Science, with cum laude honors. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters in Quantitative Finance at The University of Texas at Arlington - I expect to graduate in 2025.
Experience
I was a mathematics instructor at Mathnasium for 2 years. I guided over 70 students through an understanding of mathematics, from numerical fluency up to Calculus II in a collaborative effort. I provided students with enrichment and helped them achieve metacognition through Socratic questioning, direct teaching, and manipulatives.
I worked for Tutor Doctor for 2 years, tutoring K-12 students for math & SAT/ACT prep, both online & in-person.
I've done freelance since 2016.
Approach
I know how to follow lesson plans, but also create my own lesson plans tailored specially for my students. I also know how to adapt to different learning styles - I do not default to solely direct lecturing, because students need active engagement in order to learn and retain information. I am very flexible and also internally/emotionally driven to help my students succeed and enjoy learning. I also make it a priority to make my students feel relaxed and comfortable around me.
