About Me

I’m a recovering lawyer who has always had a passion for education. Facile with the math & science as well as the arts & literature. I wrote a hip-hop opera in college (well before “Hamilton”) & have a strong commitment to the arts & humanities.

Experience

I have been fortunate enough to have a world-class education- unparalleled, frankly— with mentors & friends to encourage my multiple interests along the way. As a result, my “experience” reads like a Sinatra song: I’ve been a management consultant, a high school teacher, a lawyer, a professor, a dishwasher & an immigrant advocate & a stranger in a new land on many occasions. I love diversity & new ideas & the infectious energy that young folks bring to fruition.

Approach

Humility is always a good start. Recognizing the reciprocal relationship between student & teacher … and that we learn from one another—and being committed yet flexible to the student’s needs & that one size does not always fit all — that is a jumping-off point; I also like to measure progress & tailor it individually: if you cannot measure, you cannot manage. Lastly, I am relentless: never give up. To Err is human. Nothing is fatal; we can always course correct.
