My favorite hobby is baking. I enjoy making low-processed sweets and adapting them to suit my taste while eating healthy. It is also a great way of relieving stress.
About Me
I am a first-year master's student in the MCBG program at Drexel University. I spent the prior two years as a research trainee at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. I love understanding how the cell functions at the molecular and cellular level, and learning how disease affects biological processes in the cells and possible pathways or mechanisms to alleviate disease.
Experience
During COVID, I virtually tutored a middle school student briefly in social science, math, and English. I learned how to ask questions that can indicate whether the student was following the lesson and engaged, and how to ensure that the student understands and is not just waiting for me to answer.
Approach
I had subjects that I struggled with in high school, and was able to discuss these challenges with more knowledgeable peers or the teacher, and went to after-school or lunch tutoring. With this help, I did well in these subjects. Having tutoring resources can influence how well a student does on tests, and how well they understand the material which can impact their grade.
