Fun Facts
I love taking walks around parks and just enjoying nature alone during the day. When nighttime comes, I like spending time with friends and playing video games. My spirit animal would probably be a cat, although I am unfortunately allergic to cats.
About Me
I recently graduated from Northwestern University with double majors in Psychology and Neuroscience. I have always been passionate about working with children because early childhood experiences are so crucial to their overall cognitive, social, and emotional development. I plan on going to graduate school for school psychology or clinical psychology to design interventions and bridge the gap in mental health resources to empower youth and underserved communities.
Experience
Throughout high school (2016-2020), I volunteered at an academic summer program where I served as a teacher's assistant, preparing instructional materials for classroom lessons in mathematics, reading, writing, and motor skill development. I assisted in classroom management for groups of 20 children and supported the lead teaching in resolving conflicts, encouraging children to participate in group activities, and maintaining positive relationships.
Approach
I believe that every student can learn and succeed, especially with the appropriate support and resources. When working with students, I aim to understand their needs and try to find an approach that meets them in the middle, acknowledging their capabilities and providing the optimal push to allow them to challenge themselves and learn. Every student is unique. By understanding their learning styles and needs, I can support them in developing effective study techniques.
