Fun Facts
I've already had the great privilege of living outside the US twice (Canada and UAE) and visiting about a dozen countries in my 24 years of life. I love skiing in the winter!
About Me
I have a bachelor's in biomedical physics from the Portland State University Honors College. This degree was interdisciplinary, giving me a baseline understanding of topics in biology, physics, math, and science/oregon/portland">computer science.
I'm hoping to get into graduate school at OHSU to earn a doctorate in biomedical engineering!
Experience
As a tutor at Mathnasium, I got to work with students of a wide age range, helping teach math subjects from addition to calculus. I also helped lead a few study groups in college classes.
Approach
While in grade school, I found I learned easiest when allowed to work on something advanced for the skill level expected, but that I enjoyed completing, such as a presentation on a subject that interested me.
Therefore, I think giving students projects they enjoy doing like the example above can help stimulate a passion for learning outside of simply completing work.
