Fun Facts

I lived in Boston and moved back to Milford to do college on my terms. I love science/connecticut/milford">computer science, and all things numbers, they can be a little bit easier to understand than why the color of a curtain symbolizes Xyz in reading. I really enjoy the outdoors and taking pictures, and carry a Tripod with me most days just in case I see something cool!

About Me

I have recently started school at the Connecticut State Housatonic campus. My major is Computer Information Systems. Currently trying to do as much as humanly possible on campus. I enjoy a little less structured learning, a whiteboard is my friend and I present information visually in ways that help break complex topics into smaller ones.

Experience

I have realized that I enjoy tutoring others and run my own group on Wednesday nights from 4:30 to 6. I help my peers understand the theories we are learning about and help them prepare for tests and quizzes. I have received feedback that my groups are helpful and that my grades have improved due to this group. One of my peers went from averaging in the 60s to the 90s.

Approach

I am a very visual teacher and learner myself, using graphics and whiteboards as a means of displaying information into its concrete parts. Early in my learning experience I found it frustrating that the ways we were taught were on black and white paper that was honestly... just boring. There wasn't energy or a reason to be excited to learn about what we were talking about, and by making it a physical movement with whiteboards or markers it lets me connect the concepts visually.
