One passion that people quickly learn about me is that I love to travel and meet new people! This allows me to learn about different cultures and broaden my understanding of the world. This spring, I will be traveling to Colombia for the first time. I also enjoy watching baseball and writing historical fiction novels.

About Me

I am an English, History, and Business teacher at Mica Mountain High School in Vail, Arizona. This is my fifth year in education. Before becoming a teacher, I owned a marketing company for 10 years. I have a Master of Teaching in Secondary English Education from Western Governors University and am certified in teaching Secondary English, Social Studies, and Business. I enjoy teaching and helping students achieve success.

Experience

As a high school teacher, I have the opportunity to tutor students every day. I have been teaching for five years and I love it! I was inspired to become a teacher by helping in the AVID tutoring program several years ago. The impact that tutoring has on students can be profound. It was exciting to see how students who struggled when they entered the program emerged as successful students at the end of the program.

Approach

As a student, I always benefited from one-on-one tutoring and support from teachers and fellow students. I want all students to succeed and will do my best to help them achieve their goals.
