About Me

I started at Georgia Military College in 2016 and graduated in 2018 with an associate degree in History 2.89 GPA. I enrolled at Arizona State University later that year. At ASU, I majored in history and earned a minor in English. I also studied literature and religious studies. I graduated ASU with a 3.89 GPA and was placed on the Dean's list 6 times. After finding the education profession, I feel that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Experience

After graduating college in 2022, I have been employed at a charter school in Fort Worth. I have taught 3rd grade and spent the last two years as the school's MTA (dyslexia) specialist. I have also taught history, literature, and English.

Approach

I grew up not knowing that I was dyslexic. In the 1980's, it wasn't tested for unless it was a severe problem. Because I am dyslexic, I can connect with other children with this SLD. I also enjoy teaching history and literature and I like to employ the Socratic method when instructing in these areas.
