I am a lover of the arts, particularly literature and music. I studied flute for about 10 years before I switched my focus to writing. My focus is journalistic pieces despite dabbling in creative writing here and there.

About Me

I am a senior English student at Arizona State University studying to become an English teacher! I love working with young minds to help improve their writing and vocabulary skills. I have always lived by the mantra "Writing is thinking". By improving your writing, you're improving your thinking. I hope to instil that same message in everybody I teach!

Experience

Tutoring was one of the first jobs I ever picked up, beginning at age 11. I would tutor my peers, my younger sister, along with my younger neighbours. In high school, I tutored part-time for volunteer hours for the National Honors Society as well as for extra credits. I have also picked up tutoring here and there in college, using it as practice and experience in the field of education.

Approach

In my personal experience, I felt a lot of my creativity was stripped away from me during my early school years. It felt as though teachers and tutors were constantly trying to put me into a box in terms of my writing and creative abilities. I seek to make kids feel comfortable thinking outside the box, and feel comfortable with their thoughts and emotions. With a clear and sound mind, my goal is to help students effectively and articulately turn their thinking into writing.
