Fun Facts
I love reading, cats, and embroidery because I am a grandmother at heart. If I don't have my nose in a book, I can usually be found listening to or playing music - I play the clarinet and ukulele! I've never been out of the United States, but someday I hope to visit Europe and see as many castle ruins as I can.
About Me
I have a Bachelor of Science in Physics and recently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington. While there, I worked as a research assistant and physics tutor. Now that I'm done with school, I hope to continue my career in researching high-energy particle physics.
Experience
While working on my degree, I spent my junior and senior years working as a tutor in the UTA physics clinic. I have also spent a lot of time tutoring friends and family friends in math and physics. Algebra and Calculus are my specialities, as well as applying mathematical concepts to the physical world.
Approach
I see every math and science problem as a puzzle. When the pieces are put in the right order, with the right formulas, the answer can always be found. My approach to tutoring is teaching students to find all the available pieces and look at the big picture to avoid getting bogged down in the details. With patience and positive reinforcement, I believe anyone can learn to be good at math.
