College Undergrad Passionate About Teaching

Fun Facts

Reading and teaching is a deep passion of mine and I have had many rewarding and excellent experiences in English classes in high school and college. Reading for leisure is one of the main ways I spend time and I greatly enjoy entering the world of a book to better understand the world we live in. I have a strong calling to teach and assist other students in English, reading comprehension, and writing in the hopes that I may share my passion and the excitement that comes from the written word.

About Me

I am a Junior English major at the dallas">University of Dallas and I hope to teach English literature after graduation or after a Masters degree. At the moment, some of the college courses I'm taking are studying Romantic and Victorian literature and attending a graduate class in Shakespeare's Comedies.

Experience

I've had the wonderful opportunity of acquiring first-hand experience in early childhood education through my time as a field intern teacher at Kids Place, Bright Horizons in Fort Worth. As I taught in a Kindergarten prep class with 15+ energetic and curious 5-year-olds, I came to truly value fostering a love of learning and curiosity in education. Being involved in a classroom setting inspired me to keep going further in education and tutoring.

Approach

During high school, I grew to appreciate reading as a vehicle for discovering the truth of our lives and our humanity. With every book or work of poetry that I study in college, I grow increasingly astounded by the sheer power of the written word and the power of reading it and comprehending it in my mind. For that reason, I want to step further into the education environment and be involved as other students learn the power of reading and writing and how it truly rewires our brains.
