Fun Facts

I love to travel and watch movies. I have a passion for reading, and I am in the process of writing a novel. I have 6 brothers and two sisters, along with an amazing dog named Sugar. My favorite place in the world is Paris, France, and I would love to travel there to see the Eiffel Tower in person.

About Me

I am currently a 3rd grade reading teacher here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Teaching 3rd grade is very rewarding, and this year I had the privilege of hosting my school's first spelling bee. I have been in education for over 10 years, and I just completed my second master's degree at Southern New Hampshire University. I am also writing a book that will hopefully be out later this year.

Experience

I tutor after school and have done private tutoring in the past to help students prepare for the state standardized test. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. I have also assisted kindergarten students who struggle with phonics.

Approach

From an early age, I struggled with math until I got assistance from a great teacher who taught me to see the patterns in math. That teacher taught me the value of believing in myself and never giving up. I also discovered my passion for reading and writing when I was allowed to have creative freedom to explore with my learning. I try to instill those same values in my students and bring out their talents and let them know that they are capable. I believe in meeting a child where they are at and
