Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I love expressing myself through my creativity. I feel my most creative when I am drawing and painting. While it can be challenging, I am always trying to learn new techniques to improve my art.

About Me

I am a sophomore at Houston Christian University. I’ve been on the Dean’s list for two years in a row. Once I graduate, I hope to attend McGovern Medical School to further my education to become a psychiatrist so I can use my skills to help those in need.

Experience

In high school, I was a part of the Peer Assistant Leadership and Service group (PALS), which focused on mentoring and tutoring elementary kids. My focus was on math and reading, and preparing them for the next grade level.

Approach

I believe that the best way to teach is to be passionate about what is being taught and to connect with the student. No student or teacher should have to feel overwhelmed or bored, because there is value in all knowledge, and I hope I can instill this into everyone I come across. I struggled in school when teachers worried more about a paycheck than the success of their students. Because of my experience, I’ll value comprehension, mastery, and success for my students.
