Fun Facts
A passion of mine for as long as I can remember has been altruism and leadership. I enjoy helping others, and as I continued to work in a classroom setting, I gained more leadership skills and fulfilled the empowerment of teaching and helping others understand the lesson. As I volunteered as a research assistant, I gained a new skill in teamwork and the importance of data assessment. During my time facilitating at California State University of Long Beach, I gained more leadership skills.
About Me
In 2023, I graduated from California State University of Long Beach with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a 3.75. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at California State University of Long Beach as a facilitator and research assistant. I value higher education and intend to continue pursuing my career in a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. The degree will provide me the opportunity to open a private practice and teach Psychology courses at the college level.
Experience
I began my experience in tutoring in December 2023. I have had the opportunity to work for several different tutoring companies for as long as the programs have existed. Throughout the years, I learned how to establish rapport with students, work with diverse backgrounds, demographics, and the importance of patience. I'm grateful for my experience with diverse demographics and for working with Frog Tutoring. The position as tutor allows me to provide support to help students build or develop skills.
Approach
My framework towards interacting with anyone and with students would be unconditional positive regard, patience, and optimism. I believe in the importance of empathy, a growth mindset, and supporting students. As I continued to gain experience, I realised how pivotal encouragement, patience, and understanding are in the classroom. I believe in providing accessible support for bilingual students, as well.
