Fun Facts
I have two cats that I rescued in December. They are a brother and sister, and they love exploring and being a little mischievous! I also love hiking and bicycle riding.
About Me
I am a teacher in the Cartwright School District. I have been working there for ten years. My favorite subject to teach is math. Five years ago, my principal and I started the school's first math intervention program to help students who were struggling with their math skills. I love working with students of all ages, and my favorite part of my job is when I help a student realize their potential and discover the success that is within them.
Experience
I have been a teacher for 22 years and started working as an ESL teacher in Berlin, Germany. Returning to the US, I taught fourth grade in my home state of Colorado and have been teaching in Arizona since 2013. All of my teaching experience is in grades K-6. At the start of COVID, my principal and I began an online math program to support students who needed extra math support. After COVID, I have continued as the lead teacher in that program. I also tutored students at their homes during COVID
Approach
I believe all students deserve the opportunity to learn how to become critical thinkers and feel successful. I strive to help each of my students learn multiple strategies in order to best help them understand what they are working on and what works best for THEM. As a struggling student growing up, I know firsthand how important it is to have teachers who see a student's potential and will do everything they can to help their students realize that they are strong and capable individuals.
