Fun Facts
When I’m not studying or tutoring, I love getting lost in a good book—reading is one of my favorite ways to relax and explore new ideas. I also play the accordion, which surprises a lot of people! It’s a unique hobby that lets me blend creativity with focus, just like math.
About Me
Hi there! My name is Amitie Gonzalez, and I’m currently a junior at Cal State Fullerton studying Accounting. I’ve always had a love for numbers, which led me to take courses like college algebra, business calculus, statistics, and even high school calculus. I know math can feel overwhelming sometimes, but I truly enjoy helping students see it in a new, more approachable light. My goal is to become a forensic accountant one day—basically a detective with numbers—so I take problem-solving seriously (and make it fun along the way!). I’m patient, upbeat, and great at breaking things down so they make sense. Whether you need help catching up or getting ahead, I’m here to help them feel confident and capable.
Experience
I’m a junior at Cal State Fullerton majoring in Accounting, with a strong background in math through courses like College Algebra, Business Calculus, Statistics, and high school Calculus. I’ve worked as a team lead at Jamba Juice, a barista at Starbucks, and a tax assistant—roles that strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. I enjoy helping others understand math and bring patience, clarity, and encouragement to every tutoring session
Approach
My approach to tutoring starts with getting to know the student—not just how they learn, but who they are. I believe every student has their own way of understanding things, and I take the time to figure that out so I can tailor my teaching style to fit them best. I never rush the process or judge where someone is at. Instead, I create a safe, supportive space where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence at their own pace.
