About Me

Hi there! My name is Emily, I am a tutor with Frog Learning. Some things about me are: I have acquired my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from UTA, where I also graduated with two minors - in Spanish and Women & Gender Studies. During my time at UTA, I was on the Dean's List for 2 years in a row. After taking some time off, I plan on going back to school to pursue nursing. Lastly, I am a finalist for the Dell Scholars Program - a scholarship offered by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

Experience

I have spent several years giving back to my middle school and high school, which have in so much to me. Since graduating high school, I’ve volunteered to a handful of panels where I’ve shared my story post-graduation and what path I took, I’ve chaperoned for many AVID field trips to universities, I’ve proctored a handful of STAAR testing for middle and high schoolers, and I’ve also worked as an AVID tutor to aid other students specifically in any advanced mathematics problems and more!

Approach

As a child, I didn’t have any family who could help me with my studies. Both of my parents didn’t finish school; nonetheless completed high school, and both of my siblings did not take advanced-level coursework as I did. So growing up, I didn’t have any assistance aside from school electives that I was in and friend groups that I’d study with. That being said, I would love to offer guidance for students who are seeking help in their courses or who are confused and want to find support and help.
