About Me
After Medical School and residency in clinical pathology, I earned a PhD in Virology from Yale University. I then worked as a postdoctoral scientist for an additional 10 years at Yale New Haven Hospital, in the field of virology. When my research stopped going well, and I was unable to publish my results, I changed careers and began teaching.
Experience
When I was working in science, I found I enjoyed mentoring and teaching students how to do science. As a piano teacher for over 10 years, I enjoy working one-on-one with students, building rapport, and encouraging them to keep learning. It's rewarding to see them grow and accomplish more.
Approach
I look for concepts that a student is struggling with and take the time to explain them carefully, step by step. I encourage students to find the pleasure in working through a problem. I emphasise the importance of double-checking your work to make sure you got it right..
