About Me

I am originally from California and moved to Washington, DC on a full-ride scholarship to Howard University at the age of 16. I skipped 8th grade. My passion is to help the next generation solve the world's greatest STEM challenges, and I do that by helping students have a strong foundation in math. Being an engineer is about problem solving, and math is one of the biggest hurdles for students to overcome when pursuing STEM. I hope to help students develop an analytical mindset and find joy in the growth of their problem-solving skills.

Experience

My very first job in the summer after my freshman year in college was as an SAT Math teacher for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, and I was only 17 years old. Since then, I have worked with students every opportunity I have had. I worked with K-12 in one-on-one style tutoring sessions and small groups. Approach

I am an engineer and I believe there is not just one way to solve a problem. I translate this belief into my style of teaching especially when it comes to math. Each student is an individual and I teach methods according to their skillset. In a one-on-one setting, I would allow the student to solve the problems they are struggling with first so I can get an understanding of their thought process.
