Fun Facts
I love being outdoors or cooking! My favourite activities outdoors hands-dow,n are being with my horse and gardening. My horse is a sweet Spanish-pony mix who loves to spend time with me. When I am not at the barn, I enjoy gardening. My dream is to have a hobby farm one day :)
When I am not outdoors, cooking is my other passion. I enjoy making homemade dishes with an Italian, Mexican, or Indian flair.
About Me
I am a practising Radiologic Technologist of 16 years. I love my career and enjoy working with my patients and with X-ray students who want to succeed and be involved. Six of those 16 years were spent instructing at a local university's Radiography program, where I taught as a theory, lab, and clinical instructor. I am very familiar with the specifications of the ARRT in the Radiography category and love helping x-ray students with their studies.
Experience
Since I have experience as a Radiography lab/clinical/theory instructor, I am very familiar with the structure of a JCERT-accredited Radiography program and the specifications of the ARRT for x-ray students. Upon teaching students in the classroom and clinical, I have also held individual and group review sessions on various radiologic topics, such as digital image acquisition, procedures, patient care, radiation protection and biology, and ARRT examination preparation.
Approach
Radiography students appreciate learning with a hands-on approach or an outside-the-textbook approach. My approach to teaching Radiography involves connecting with students and taking the time to explain different concepts in such a way as to help them get the most out of their learning experience, which can ultimately be applied both in the classroom and clinic. This may include developing individualised lesson plans, drawing diagrams, or applying new ideas to enhance their "x-ray vision."
