My biggest passion is writing and reading poetry, as well as performing spoken word poetry. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am a weight-lifter! I have lived in Seekonk, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; San Francisco, California; Harlem, New York; and Highland Park, New Jersey.

I am in-between paraprofessional jobs and hope to eventually get my second M.A. degree to be a child and adolescent talk and play therapist.

Approach
I like to bring joy and excitement to my work. I get to know my clients and make their work meaningful through real-life motivation. I often ask bigger picture questions to get the students to focus on the smaller details of their work.

I have always gotten top scores in reading comprehension in standardized tests and ELA courses. I scored a 5 on and AP English test that I took the first day of the course. I've taken literature courses through my undergraduate courses at Brown University.
Sociology Tutoring
I took a number of sociology courses at my undergraduate program at Brown University. I scored top grades in each. I have a great passion for sociology and find the subject matter fascinating.
Psychology Tutoring
I both majored in Psychology at my undergraduate program at Brown University and in Clinical Psychology for my M.A. program at Columbia University. I have also served as a student-therapist in graduate school. In addition, most of my job experience is in the mental health field.
Writing Tutoring
I made top scores in writing for my SAT's, GRE's, and as an undergraduate at Brown University in literature courses. I have been testing at above 12th grade level since the 4th grade. Not only do I have experience in the MLA format for English, but also the APA format for the social sciences.
Child Development Tutoring
I have taken 3 courses in Child Development during my undergraduate program at Brown University, a non-degree course at University of Rhode Island, and in my M.A. program at Columbia University. I made top grades in each course. I have also worked with children and adolescents for most of my career.
Study Skills Tutoring
I have always had strong study skills, scoring a 3.96 GPA in high school, a 3.1 GPA in college, and a 3.7 GPA in my M.A. program. School has always been my #1 priority and I have always been good at juggling classes with extracurricular activities. I also have experience tutoring a number of high school students, giving them strong study skill instruction.
SAT Reading Tutoring
I scored a 1360 on my SAT's when the test was limited to reading and mathematics. I scored above a 12th grade level in reading starting in 4th grade. I also have always made top marks in ELA courses in high school, and literature courses in college.
English Tutoring
I have been scoring at above 12th grade level in ELA since the 4th grade. I have also scored top marks in ELA and English Literature courses in high school and college. I have tutored ELA for both middle school and high school students.
Science Tutoring
I have two degrees in the social sciences. Science was always one of my favorite topics and I have experience with it through my M.A. program. I have also tutored middle school and high school students in the subject.
Reading Tutoring
Social Studies was always my favorite subject in elementary and middle school. I have two degrees in the social sciences from Brown and Columbia University. I have experience tutoring both middle and high school students.
