About Me
Hi! I am Emma McKinney, BSN, RN, CCRN—a BSN-prepared Registered Nurse with over five years of clinical nursing experience and more than six years in tutoring and mentoring roles. My background spans 11 years in healthcare, working coast to coast in critical care for both pediatric and adult populations. My nursing journey began at the renowned Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the PICU. From there, I traveled as a critical care nurse across the country, caring for the sickest patients and growing as a leader along the way. I most recently specialized in Adult Critical Care, where I continued to serve in leadership and education roles. I have worn many hats during my nursing career. Nursing and education are my twin passions. I have completed over 28 credit hours of graduate-level coursework, including doctoral-level classes in Nurse Anesthesia, advanced sciences, and DNP core requirements. I love sharing what I’ve learned—both from textbooks and real-life experience—to empower present and future nurses. My passion lies in helping new graduate nurses and nursing students build their confidence and readiness for the profession. I truly love seeing my students and mentees thrive. Whether you’re prepping for the NCLEX, struggling with a tough course, or pursuing a certification, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!

Approach
My goal as your nursing tutor is clear: to reduce the stress linked to your nursing studies and improve your overall enjoyment of learning. In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing your goals, program experiences, expectations, and what success looks like for you. I strive to create an environment in every session where you feel comfortable, heard, and confident in asking questions, expressing your concerns, or sharing your comments.
