Hi there! I’m a trauma surgeon with a background in neuroscience and a professionally trained artist. I have always loved blending science and creativity in everything I do. I’ve been passionate about teaching and tutoring throughout my entire career, and there’s nothing more rewarding to me than helping others learn, grow, and achieve their goals. I’m also passionate about health, wellness, and fitness, and I’d be thrilled to support my clients on their journey to becoming the smartest.

About Me

I graduated from Tulane University in 2008 with a double major in Neuroscience and Studio Art. I then went on to conduct neuroscience lab research at UCLA before going to medical school at Texas Tech University in 2014. I continued to General Surgery training at the University of Arizona in Phoenix, and Trauma surgery training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. In every step of my training, I have been responsible for and committed to mentoring and teaching others who are in my field.

Experience

I have been involved in teaching and tutoring for my entire career. I started as a peer tutor in high school for math, statistics, and biology. I continued as the Lead TA at my medical school and was involved in medical student education as a general surgery resident. I am a strong test-taker with good organisational skills, scoring a 34 on my ACT, 1350 on my SAT, and a 36 (conv 516) on my MCAT.

Approach

I have a very pragmatic approach to teaching and learning. Most concepts, whether basic or advanced, can be broken down into easy-to-understand principles. By doing this and creating an organizational system for learning these principles, big tasks become much more achievable. I’m generally a very gentle mentor, but having gone through 16 years of intense schooling myself, I am capable of turning on the tough love when it is necessary.
