Fun Facts
A fun fact about me is that I am a singer! I especially enjoy singing Jazz and R&B songs. I also have two cats, named Addy and Snickers, and two dogs, named Theo and Holly. I enjoy attending ballet class once a week at my local studio.
About Me
I am a 2025 graduate of Fresno State University. I majored in Anthropology with a minor in Jewish Studies. I developed strong writing and study skills during my time as an Anthropology student at Fresno State. I was the recipient of the 2024-2025 Undergraduate Research Award grant for my work on body mapping with Disabled and aging people. My personal life experiences, as well as my training in anthropology, have molded me to have a very empathetic and compassionate attitude.
Experience
Before transferring to Fresno State, I was a Supplemental Instruction tutor at Fresno City College from 2021-2022. I specialized in supporting students in learning complex topics in Intro to Biological Anthropology. During this time I became familiarized with making worksheets and facilitating activities that made learning easier and more fun. As I got repeat students, I learned what worked best for each individual student.
Approach
I believe that the key to successful tutoring is getting to know my students on an individual level and tailoring lessons to their unique needs and talents. I believe this is not only key to successful learning, but it is key for developing student confidence. I also believe that having patience and leaving room for the student to lead my next action is important when applying compassion and empathy.
