About Me

I am a Tufts University graduate, receiving a B.S. in Astrophysics. I've been on the Dean's List 4 times. Since graduating, I've been a Long-term Substitute Science teacher, a Math Tutor Supervisor for grades 3rd-8th, and a Paraprofessional.

Experience

As a Paraprofessional, I provide teaching assistance for primarily 5th-grade students, several of whom are special needs, in a variety of subjects: Math, Science, ELA, and History. I assist with behavioral management in the classroom, including removing students from
class when necessary
As a Math Tutoring Site/Tutor Supervisor, I coordinated summer and fall math tutoring for students in grades 3-5, performed community outreach to find tutors for both site locations, and provided one-on-one/small-group

Approach

I push the students I work with to reach the answer on their own, asking them questions and breaking down problems for them so they get to the answer without me giving it to them.
