One fun fact about me is that I’m really into hiking and exploring new places whenever I get free time. I’m also the oldest sibling in my family, which means I’m pretty good at helping others stay organized and focused. Fun fact: I’ve never missed a math test!

About Me

I’m a business student at UMGC with a minor in Mathematical Sciences and a passion for helping students succeed in math. With hands-on experience as a math tutor and substitute teacher, I enjoy breaking down tough concepts into easy-to-understand steps. I’m all about creating a supportive, stress-free learning space where students can build confidence and reach their goals.

Experience

I worked as a math tutor at Northern Middle School, where I helped students one-on-one and in small groups with homework, test prep, and understanding key math concepts. I also supported students through targeted interventions, adapting my approach to fit their needs. My experience as a substitute teacher and intervention assistant has strengthened my classroom management skills and ability to connect with diverse learners.

Approach

As a child, I struggled in school and found learning challenging and sometimes discouraging. In middle school, I was lucky to have a teacher who used positive encouragement and persistence to help me push through those difficulties. That experience inspires my tutoring style today—I focus on patience, building confidence, and celebrating small wins to help students overcome their challenges and enjoy learning.
