Fun Facts

I have two cats who keep me company while I unwind. I play Overwatch and Marvel Rivals at a collegiate and semi-professional level, constantly working to improve my skills. Lately, I’ve been diving into the Pokémon Trading Card Game and enjoying the strategy it offers!

About Me

I am a senior at the maryland">University of Maryland, College Park. I am studying science/maryland/baltimore">computer science with a specialization in cybersecurity and hoping to graduate to work in software engineering and web-attack prevention. I am also in the honors program called UH.

Experience

During my time in high school, I was an active member of both the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society. Through these organizations, I had the opportunity to tutor fellow students every week in a range of math courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, and Multivariable Calculus. This experience not only strengthened my understanding of mathematical concepts but also deepened my passion for helping others learn and succeed.

Approach

Learning new topics can be challenging at times, especially when the material feels overwhelming or unfamiliar. However, I believe that with the right approach and support, any concept can become manageable. I strive to break down complex ideas into simpler parts and offer clear, step-by-step guidance to help others build confidence and understanding.

Algebra Tutoring

As a STEM major, I’ve gained extensive experience with Python through coursework, personal projects, and academic research. I’ve used Python for data analysis, automation, algorithm design, and building small applications. I have also helped peers understand Python fundamentals such as loops, functions, object-oriented programming, and debugging. My teaching style focuses on making code intuitive and approachable for beginners while reinforcing problem-solving strategies. I enjoy helping students build confidence as they learn to think like programmers.

Geometry Tutoring

I completed Geometry in high school with an A and developed a strong grasp of key concepts such as angles, proofs, congruence, and coordinate geometry. As a member of the Math Honor Society, I tutored students regularly in Geometry, helping them break down complex theorems and apply them to real-world problems. Now as a STEM major, I continue to use geometric reasoning in advanced math and science courses. My background allows me to explain concepts clearly and adapt my approach to different learning styles.

Math Tutoring

I have a strong foundation in middle school math, which I mastered with high grades and later applied as I progressed through advanced courses like Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. As a tutor in the Math and National Honor Societies, I regularly worked with younger students on topics such as fractions, decimals, ratios, and introductory algebra. My current studies as a STEM major continue to reinforce these fundamentals, allowing me to explain concepts in a simple and relatable way. I focus on building students’ confidence while helping them develop problem-solving skills that prepare them for higher-level math.

2nd Grade Math Tutoring

I have a strong understanding of elementary school math, having mastered core topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic fractions early in my academic career. As a high school tutor through the Math and National Honor Societies, I worked with younger students to build foundational math skills in a patient and engaging way. Now as a STEM major, I continue to apply and reinforce these concepts through advanced coursework and tutoring. I focus on making learning fun, clear, and confidence-building for early learners.
