Fun Facts
I’m passionate about learning—and even more passionate about helping others learn. Whether it’s Math, English, Spanish, or another subject, I bring hands-on, engaging methods to each tutoring session. With experience working with learners from preschool age to adulthood, I tailor my approach to meet each student where they are. My goal is always to make learning accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable.
About Me
I am a dedicated educator and lifelong learner with a passion for helping others grow academically and personally. During the school year, I work as an instructional assistant in a high school alternative classroom setting, where I support students with diverse learning needs. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen University and bring a wide range of experience to the table, including roles as a 4K teacher and long-term substitute teacher across 1st, 4th, 6th, and 7th grade classrooms.
My teaching experience spans from early childhood to adulthood, and I’ve had the rewarding opportunity to tutor students of all ages, even helping an adult learn to read. I believe in hands-on, student-centered learning that builds confidence and fosters curiosity.
In addition to my work in education, I am the founder of a nonprofit organization that supports parents who have experienced child loss—an effort that is deeply meaningful to me and rooted in compassion. I’m also a wife and mother to two sons.
Experience
As a 4K teacher in a state-funded program, I used the Creative Curriculum to create a hands-on, developmentally appropriate learning environment. My long-term substitute teaching experience includes 4th-grade science and 7th-grade social studies, where I adapted lesson plans to meet classroom needs and supported students’ academic growth. I’ve also served as a classroom coach in a middle school using the Elevate platform, helping students stay on task and engaged with virtual instruction.
I bri
Approach
In my work with students, I use scaffolding, questioning, and live modeling to guide them toward independent learning. I believe students learn best through trial and error, where they are encouraged to make mistakes, reflect, and try again. My favorite saying is that it's ok to make a mistake. This is why pencils have erasers. This hands-on, exploratory approach builds resilience, confidence, and critical thinking skills.
