About Me
I’m Kaleb, a Psychology major at washington-university">George Washington University with a real passion for helping students find their voice through reading and writing. Over the past few years, I’ve worked with students from elementary through early college—whether tutoring one-on-one or leading a classroom, I’ve always been drawn to the moments when a student starts to feel more confident in their words.
Experience
Right now, I tutor at SMARTDC, where I support students who are a bit behind grade level. I recently taught 5th grade at J.R. Irvin Elementary, leading enrichment programs that blended academic skill-building with creative thinking. We focused on reading comprehension, writing fluency, and building a sense of curiosity. I’ve also helped college students navigate their academic challenges as a Leadership Ambassador, which gave me insight into how to support older students juggling complex writing
Approach
It’s not just about catching up on assignments—it’s about figuring out what’s holding them back, and then creating a plan that works for them. I’ve learned that every student processes language differently, and I try to meet them where they are, offering structure and encouragement along the way.
