Fun Facts
I am the oldest of three. I love knitting! Scarves are my speciality—it’s my favorite way to unwind after a long day of tutoring or research. I’ve worked on research projects ranging from octopus cognition to cancer metabolism—yes, I’ve studied both brains and tumors! I’m a proud alumna of Dartmouth College (go Big Green!) where I majored in Neuroscience and minored in Anthropology of Global Health. I’m a reserve officer in the U.S. Army—discipline, leadership, and service are core to who I am.
About Me
Hello! My name is Janelle Annor. I graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in the Anthropology of Global Health. I’ve always been passionate about helping students unlock their potential—whether that’s mastering foundational skills or excelling in advanced courses. I have worked at C2 Education and Mathnasium, where I tutored a wide range of subjects from early elementary math to AP-level sciences, economics, and standardized test prep. I'm committed to creating a supportive learning environment that helps every student grow in both skill and confidence.
Experience
I bring years of tutoring and mentoring experience across multiple settings and age groups. At Mathnasium, I worked with elementary and middle school students on essential math skills, problem-solving strategies, and standardized testing readiness. At C2 Education, I supported high school students with AP coursework (AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, AP Calculus, AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics), SAT/ACT prep, and essay writing.
I’ve also tutored in college-level subjects such as ne
Approach
My teaching philosophy is rooted in empathy, structure, and individualized support. I take the time to understand where a student is academically and emotionally, then tailor each session to meet their goals. I start by identifying skill gaps or conceptual misunderstandings, then scaffold learning through guided practice, feedback, and real-world application. I emphasize growth mindset principles—helping students build resilience, ask questions confidently, and take ownership of their learning.
