Fun Facts

I’m a total book lover and can read up to 4 books a month—nothing beats getting lost in a good story!

About Me

I’m a proud graduate of Delaware State University, an HBCU where I earned my degree in Mass Communications. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury that required me to relearn how to talk and comprehend, I developed a deep empathy for the learning process and a passion for helping others. My journey taught me the value of patience, resilience, and creating safe, judgment-free spaces—especially for children and adults who may learn at different paces. Now, with experience in tutoring reading and writing, I’m committed to empowering others through literacy and supporting them in building confidence, one step at a time.

Experience

I have hands-on experience working with children during the summer, where I assisted with class planning and often created and taught my lesson plans focused on literacy and engagement. Additionally, I worked in a homeless shelter, where I supported residents by helping them understand important documents and access essential resources—an experience that deepened my commitment to education, clarity, and compassionate communication.

Approach

I believe in meeting people where they are. Whether I’m working with children or adults, I prioritize patience, encouragement, and creating a safe space where learning feels accessible and empowering. I understand that everyone learns at their own pace, and I aim to build confidence through kindness, consistency, and clear communication. My goal is always to make reading and writing feel less intimidating and more enjoyable.
