Fun Facts

One fun fact about me is that I am a certified scuba diver. I have only been once, but I got certified when I was very young. I also enjoy cooking with my little boy, gardening, and reading fun, silly books that make me laugh. I like learning about wildlife too!

About Me

Hello, I am Hilary. I attended ASU for my undergrad in education from 2008-2010 with a GPA of 3.98 and earned the recognition of Summa Cum Laude. I attended Grand Canyon University from 2018 to 2020, earning the recognition of Summa Cum Laude and graduating with a 4.0 GPA in School Administration. I am currently in my doctorate at GCU, where I am studying education/arizona/phoenix">Special Education. I have served as my team lead multiple times, and I am excited to meet you and your child.

Experience

I have experience in multiple platforms. I have taught children with special needs. I’ve taught gifted learners, and I’ve also taught SEI learners. I have employed various learning techniques to help 25% of my struggling learners achieve passing grades. There are so many special situations that have happened along my 20 years. If you have any questions about my experience, please ask, and I would be more than willing to share it with you.

Approach

My approach to teaching is simply connecting with the learner and finding a way that works for the learner. This could be hands-on, it could be visual. We could use different teaching styles. Finding a way for the learner can pull information from is my goal. Learning cannot be a serious occurrence every time; it must be loose and free-flowing, and a child must feel safe as well when they’re learning. I make it a point to have these two in place before learning starts.
