Fun Facts

I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th-grade math. I am a former school teacher for 9 years. My family has 3 generations of school educators. My Grandmother retired from teaching, and My Mother just started her 31st year of teaching.

About Me

I am a flight attendant for one of the leading airline companies in America. I taught as an elementary math school teacher from 2017-2023. I began my teaching career in 2016, right after I graduated from San Diego State University. I received my BFA in African American Dance History. I got hired to teach at a Montessori School, where I was sent to training and became a certified Montessori teacher for Lower Elementary. After 2 years, I switched to public school and taught 3rd & 4th grade math.

Experience

I have tutored many of my students outside of the classroom to help them gain a better understanding of basic math facts and skills. I helped several adult teachers pass their math Praxis exam. I was also a TN mentor for high school students. I assisted in making sure they were on track for exiting high school and entering post-secondary.

Approach

As a child, math was my strong subject. As a teacher, I learned that providing students with easy instructions and multiple strategies to solve math problems can help build their understanding.
