Fun Facts
I am married to a hard-working RN, we have 3 Pugs and live in the foothills of Coarsegold, California. I enjoy researching and creating videos, images and various projects using AI and have recently gotten into 3d printing. Not to sound generic, but I also enjoy playing golf and have been getting progressively worse the more I play, but I like the outdoors aspect of it all and hanging out with friends while playing.
About Me
I am a science teacher by trade and worked as a middle school life science and physical science teacher for 11 years. I also worked as a summer school and night school teacher where I taught the subjects of Biology, Earth Science and Physics as well. I currently work for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a general education teacher, where I have been since 2016.
Experience
As an educator with over 20 years of experience, I’ve taught a wide range of subjects, including Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics in both high school and adult education programs. I currently teach at a California state prison, where I lead pre-release and GED classes, working closely with English Learner students. I’ve also contributed to statewide curriculum development through the Academic Education Leadership Committee and supported families through after-school Parent Academie
Approach
I believe education should be empowering, personal, and rooted in real-life application. Having worked with diverse learners—from high school students to adults earning their GED in correctional facilities—I approach every lesson with patience, humor, and encouragement. My goal is to meet students where they are, help them believe in their potential, and give them the tools to succeed beyond the classroom.
