Fun Facts
I’m a proud plant mom who loves spending time outdoors—whether I’m working out or soaking in beautiful new scenery.
About Me
I am an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at Texas Wesleyan University, where I am passionate about engaging students in critical discussions on law, policy, and justice. Outside of academia, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether that means exploring local parks, tending to my growing collection of plants, or seeking out new species to add to it. I also make it a priority to stay informed on current events, regularly following global news and tracking the ever-changing political landscape to better understand its impact on society.
Experience
Before I transitioned into my current role as an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, I served as a Site Director for a Gang Intervention Program in Tarrant County, where I oversaw program operations, coordinated with community partners, and provided direct support to at-risk youth and their families. Before stepping into that position, I worked for over two years within local chapter schools, contributing to both the education/texas/fort-worth">Special Education (SPED) and kindergarten departments.
Approach
While working with education/texas/fort-worth">Special Education (SPED) departments, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of patience, compassion, and understanding. I strive to bring this mindset to every interaction with youth, recognising that each child has unique strengths, challenges, and ways of learning. By approaching them with empathy and respect, I aim to create a supportive environment where they feel valued, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.
