Fun Facts

I was in the Boy Scouts as a child and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. My favourite recreational sport is bowling. I have been working at a day camp for the past two summers. I am a huge Marvel fan. My favourite superhero is Spider-Man.

About Me

I am pursuing a Master's in education/pennsylvania/philadelphia">Special Education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania's online program. I am currently working as a paraprofessional at McKinley Elementary in the Abington School District. I live in Cheltenham Township, PA. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Albright College in 2020.

Experience

As a paraprofessional, I work with students from grades 1-5 in math and reading support. I rotate between classrooms throughout the day to assist students in their learning. My previous job, before becoming a paraprofessional, was as an RBT for a company called Connect Plus Therapy. I worked one-on-one in various school settings with children who have intellectual disabilities. Before I worked at Connect Plus Therapy, I worked in an early intervention program.

Approach

I believe that a one-on-one approach to learning can be beneficial to struggling learners. As a former RBT and paraprofessional, I work with children individually and in small groups. This allows me the opportunity to explain things to them at a slower pace. I can go through how to solve math problems or help them read things they may have trouble understanding. I believe these skills will make me a great tutor.
