One fun fact about me is that I love plants and food. I love gardening and cooking, and I am always learning about new plants I want to grow and new recipes I want to try in the kitchen.
About Me
I graduated from Middlebury College in 2021, earning a 3.7 GPA with a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature. I have worked as an educator in different capacities, including as a columbia/washington">tutor and a job coach for adults with developmental disabilities. I like to draw on my diverse range of experience to connect with students and create personalised plans to enhance their learning. Learning is one of the greatest joys in life, and my job is to help my students experience that firsthand.
Experience
I have worked as a one-on-one columbia/washington">tutor in the subjects of Chinese, English, and Middle School Math, and as an educator and job coach for adults with developmental disabilities, covering subjects like Agriculture, Job Skills, Reading, and Math.
Approach
I believe that learning is one of the greatest joys in life, and everyone is capable of learning. Every student can struggle at times, and what is needed is an approach that is compassionate and enthusiastic. As a child diagnosed with ADHD, I certainly struggled in the classroom at times, particularly in Middle School. As a result of my challenges and overcoming them, I feel inspired to help other students learn, both those who are highly motivated and those who are currently struggling.

Chinese Language and Literature
English Tutoring
In addition to being a native English speaker, I have studied English for many years and received high marks in reading and writing courses. My grasp of foreign languages like Latin and Chinese also give me a deeper understanding of how the English language works. I have proven experience working with students to improve their reading, writing, and grammar, as well as their general grasp of the English language.
Chinese Tutoring
I have taken 9 years of Mandarin classes, including a major in Chinese Language Language and Literature. The courses I have taken range from basic conversational Chinese to Chinese Politics and Economics taught fully in Mandarin. On top of the courses I have taken, I have helped students one-on-one make great improvements to their Chinese speaking, reading, and writing abilities.
History Tutoring
As an ardent student of history and a tutor with proven results, I feel confident as a history tutor.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I have experience tutoring Middle School Math with very positive results. As a student, Math did not always come to me as easily as other subjects. It often took a lot of time and effort for me to really understand the mathematical concepts I was learning. As a result of this, I feel very confident in my ability to explain these same concepts and help students learn them in a way that sticks.
Earth Science Tutoring
In addition to having studied Earth Science for over a decade, I have two years of job experience working as sustainable agriculture educator. While this job consisted of many parts, one crucial component was being able to explain natural processes of plants and the Earth in digestible ways. Our Earth is truly amazing and explaining how our natural systems work is very rewarding to me.

In addition to this, I have also worked with people with developmental disabilities on this same subject, helping break down challenges and improve understanding.
