Fun Facts

I have been writing seriously for over twenty years, and I have extensive experience in editing and proofreading. My favourite role ever: working as a copywriter at a PR firm. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Tri-County Council for Domestic Violence and volunteer at my local church in the music program. I am a single mother of two boys, the loves of my life. I have several published works of fiction in true crime, YA fantasy, and modern mystery/suspense.

About Me

I have a BLS from the University of Iowa and an MFA from Southern New Hampshire University. At both schools, I've been on the dean's list/president's list/honour roll. I also have a graduate certificate in online teaching of writing from SNHU. I have written for Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, MSN, ABC, CBS, NBC, Associated Press, Forbes, and many more. My YA novel won a national award and was featured at the 2012 New York City Book Expo.

Experience

I have a graduate certificate in higher education from Southern New Hampshire University. I have worked for Brainfuse and Tutor.com as a college tutor, and I have homeschooled both of my children (one is autistic, and the other graduated high school this year). I've worked with both children and adults in various learning environments for years.

Approach

I was homeschooled, and I homeschool my boys - so I believe strongly in a hands-on, personalised approach for every student.
