About Me

Hi, my name is Sheena White. I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. I am 20 and a 3rd-year psychology student at the baltimore">University of Baltimore. I work as a Peer Mentor for first-year and transfer students to help them get accustomed to the university as well as help them find the right resources for financial aid, class registration, and other on and off-campus resources they may need.

Experience

I tutored my nephew over the past summer to help him be ready for 8th grade. He was at a 4th-grade math level and by the end of the summer was at a 6th-grade math level. Although this is not a formal experience, before being tutored, he was not interested in learning much. By working with his needs and his learning approach, he became thoroughly engaged all summer.

Approach

I believe every child is different, and trying different strategies to find which teaching style works best with the student's learning style is best. Being patient and encouraging is my baseline.
