Fun Facts
I love to play the clarinet and do any art--drawing and painting, digital art, collage, sewing, knitting and crocheting--I pretty much LOVE to make things. I also enjoy the outdoors and like to ride my bike and swim, and go for long walks.
About Me
I am a former Associate Professor of Educational Psychology. I have over 30 years of experience in teaching and designing curriculum, as well as online courses. I love to teach and love to learn. While I have taught in person, a great deal of my experience has been online, which is so exciting because I get to meet people from all over the country and the world.
I also do part-time ghostwriting as writing has always been a passion of mine--fiction and non-fiction.
Experience
I have taught students of all ages and learning styles/preferences in a variety of subject areas. My doctorate is in educational psychology, I have a masters in educational media, and a bachelor's degree in literature. I've taught in the psychology and education departments (graduate and undergraduate) of the colleges in which I've worked.
Approach
I am student-centered and strive to ensure that every student I work with is empowered to reach their goals. I love helping students find a way that works for them to understand challenging concepts or manage large or small projects without stress.

I have been working in Photoshop and other digital products for over ten years. As a curriculum and course designer, I created the art assets for my courses. I also do illustration using these tools.

I have taught standardized test preparation and developed assessments in my role as associate professor in the education departments of the colleges I've worked at. I have a a great deal of experience in assessment and in reducing test-taking anxiety.

I have worked with students of all ages to support reading comprehension skills and studied reading strategies as part of my doctoral degree in educational psychology.

As part of my doctoral coursework in educational psychology I focused on the development of study skills and have taught student skill development for over 30 years as part of my role as associate professor in the education and special education programs of my college.
