I am an artist and writer at heart with a big imagination. I love to read, write, paint and draw and possess a persistent fascination with nature, science and history. I also never got into TikTok because I have a very loooooong attention span (sorry, not sorry).

About Me

I graduated with my Bachelor's in Fine Arts, where I learned technical and theoretical art concepts along with critical thinking about a variety of topics like culture, history, design and how to articulate abstract concepts into pictures and writing. I am a gallery artist and have worked as a contract illustrator since 2007. With my early education background from the Caribbean, I also have a passion for quality education and high standards for study and personal organisation.

Experience

I had the opportunity to tutor a young man in geometry. He found my methods effective and ended up liking me more than his official Saturday tutor. It was because I was stricter, stimulated critical thinking and did not just hand the answers to him. I taught him how to use the instruments and measure, and draw all the shapes and angles. I also believed in him and treated him with a lot of respect because I do not just see them where they are now, but the potential adult they can become.

Approach

When I immigrated from the Caribbean and came to high school in the United States, I was shocked to see some of my schoolmates still not able to read and write properly. That was unheard of in my country. The lower standards persisted even when I reached College. I believe in higher standards, slightly stricter methods and believe that entrance exams should be reintroduced. Not because I want to be harder on students, but because they deserve better standards.
